Resources
The voices in the video belong to students of color we interviewed in the Netherlands, capturing the realities they face every day: “Why do you tell me that it’s a shock when I hear that?” — “I wanted to look like white people.” — “A lot of people are more afraid of appearing racist than being racist.” Talking about differences is never easy.
Microaggressions can feel isolating, and these conversations are often difficult because “you don’t want the good ones to feel bad.” Yet avoiding these discussions only allows inequities to persist. The resources on this page — my publications, interviews, and media contributions — are part of my effort to confront discomfort, foster dialogue, and translate research into action.
